About This Interview
Actor and comedian Bill Daily spoke about his early years working as a comedy writer in local television in New York and other cities. He talked about working with his writing partner Woody Fraser on such television shows as The Mike Douglas Show. He described in great detail his break into acting, starting with his casting on I Dream of Jeannie. For this series, he described his approach to the part of “Captain Roger Healy,” working with the ensemble cast, and details of the show’s production. He then discussed the other series role for which he is well associated, that of next door neighbor “Howard Borden” on The Bob Newhart Show. He also talked about some of his other television work such as his appearance as a panelist on the popular game show Match Game. Bill Daily was interviewed for nearly two hours on June 26, 2003 in New Mexico by Karen Herman.
